He is particularly recognized for his ethics, pragmatism, and speed in arbitrating complex disputes.

Areas of Expertise, Titles, and Vocation

As an administrator and consultant to various companies active in construction, Mr. Christian Petermann possesses solid technical knowledge in architecture and engineering. 

He masters processes of construction in concrete, wood, and metal structures, and real estate appraisal tools such as DCF (Discounted Cash Flow) as well as traditional methods for calculating economic loss.

His titles and his vocation
In 2015, the Swiss Bar Association granted him the title of SBA Specialist Lawyer in Construction and Real Estate Law, which was the crowning achievement of a CAS in this field awarded two years earlier.

In 2017, Christian Petermann obtained a CAS in Real Estate Expertise from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), a university ranked 9th in the Top 100 institutions of Europe and 33 in the World University Rankings ahead of McGill University, Canada (49th).

In July 2019, he fulfilled a childhood dream by moving to Canada with his Quebec wife, devoting most of his time to the operation of his Law firm located in Geneva, Switzerland.

Convinced that the highly technical disputes he has been confronted with on a daily basis for more than 20 years deserve to be decided by Arbitrators, Christian Petermann began in June 2022 a CAS in Arbitration which was issued to him in May 2023 by the Swiss Arbitration Association, a world-renowned institution.

His research work focused on the thorny subject of methods of filling gaps in the Vienna Convention on the International Sale of Goods (CISG) in the field of construction.

In January 2024, Mr. Christian Petermann received the Certificate of training as an Adjudicator under the Canadian Government's program facilitating the payment of invoices in the field of construction (CanDACC) provided by ADR Chamber, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

On April 17, 2024, Me Christian Petermann was registered with the Quebec Bar as Foreign Legal Consultant.

On May 15, 2024, he acquired Canadian citizenship, achieving a personal goal of symbolic and prestigious value.
